iOS 7

Apple unveiled iOS 7 at the WWDC Keynote. It is the most advanced operating system since iPhone. It will be supported on iPhone 4 and up, the iPad mini, the iPad 2, iPad with retina display, and both of the iPod touch fifth generation. iOS 7 is supported on a variety of devices but not all of the devices will be able to use every one of the features. The iPhone 4 will not be able to use panorama. The iPhone 4 and 4s will not have the filters in the camera. The iPhone 4 and 4s will not be able to use Air Drop. All of the iPad’s will not be able to use panorama and will not have the filters in the camera. The iPad 2 will not have Air Drop. Other than this there are a lot of features that all of the devices can use.

iOS 7 changes the look of every single app that comes preinstalled with the operating system. These new icons look much better as you can see below.iOS 7 also changes the UI.

iOS 7 introduces control center which can be accessed by swiping up from the bottom of the screen. Control center lets you access many features instantly. Control center lets you access Airplane Mode, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Do not Disturb, orientation lock, and change your brightness. Control center also has a music player in which you can move through the song, pause and play, skip forward, skip backward, and change the volume. Control center has Air Drop, Air Play, flashlight, timer, calculator, and camera. Control Center can be accessed from the lock screen.

iOS 7 has improved notification center a lot. Notification Center now can be accessed from the lock screen. Notification Center now has three tabs which are today, all, and missed. The today tab starts with the date, then a brief sentence on the temperature, then your next calendar event, then your calendar for the day, then stocks, and lastly you have a brief summary of your calendar events tomorrow. Receiving notifications has also changed. The alert is not transparent anymore. The notification that you see at the top of the screen now has a reply button.

iOS 7 introduces multitasking. Now the view of when you double-click the home button twice is much different. You can see the view of the app in Multitasking.

iOS 7 changes the look of Siri. Now it looks way better as you can see below. Siri shows sound waves as you talk. Siri has also been updated with many more answers so that Siri is much more useful.

 

iOS 7 brings AirDrop to iOS devices. AirDrop has been on the Mac but now it has finally come to iOS devices. AirDrop lets you share files over Bluetooth. Sharing files has never been easier. You can share the same file with many people at once if the devices are in your device’s Bluetooth range.

iOS 7 also introduces a new camera app. It is now four cameras embedded into one. It includes the video camera. the photo camera, the square camera, and the panoramic camera. You can switch through these cameras by scrolling through them. The new camera app also has nine different camera filters.

The weather app has also got a whole new look. It now has a picture of the weather in the background. These pictures are also animated.

Safari has changed a lot. Safari has faster and smoother scrolling. Safari also has full screen view now too. Safari also has a reading list so you can see webpages that are in your reading list when you are offline. Safari also has shared links, now you can share your links. Safari also has unlimited tabs that you can open. The way that you look through the tabs is beautiful.

The photos app in iOS 7 has changed a lot. You may not remember where did you take the photo, but iOS does. With location services iOS will remember where did you take the photo and will sort the photos.

The messages app has a whole new look. It looks amazing. It has a flat design just like the other apps.

The mail app’s look is also amazing. It also has the flat design. If you swipe on an email, then you can delete it. This is very helpful for cleaning up your inbox.

iOS 7 has a whole new music app. The music app has a beautiful now playing screen and it has iTunes Radio embedded into it. iTunes Radio is amazing. You can select a song and make iTunes radio play songs similar to that song. Or if you don’t like that song, then iTunes Radio will not play similar songs. iTunes Radio always will remember this. Over time iTunes Radio understands what songs do you like and will only play songs that you will like.

 

The new phone app looks beautiful. It has call, message, and face time blocking.

 

The lock screen now has an invisible slider

The home screen is amazing. As you tilt the device, the apps move with the tilt. In folders, now you can have unlimited apps. Also now you can lock the rotation in iPhone now too.

iOS 7 in the car is amazing. You can receive a text, dictate the reply, get directions, play a song, and call somebody or receive a phone call eyes free and on the screen in your car. All of the car models in the picture below are agreeing to add iOS in the car in their 2014 models.
